ACADEMY OF INSPIRATION
Atmósfera
An international arts academy is being established which draws upon renaissance traditions. It brings together the very best artists, designers, writers, poets, chefs, actors, performers and visionary creative professionals to forge a new educational model for future generations.
ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Atmósfera will develop its international Artist in Residence programme over the first three years. The Royal College of Art and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park will collaborate with this programme as well as other Atmosfera collaborators. The residencies will be multi disciplinary and wide ranging, allowing visual experience framed within a unique geographic and cultural context. A part of this programme will perpetuate the Bottega Atelier tradition of the Renaissance whereby novices were apprenticed to a master artist or craftsman who would oversee their instruction.
Artist Residency Studios will be located at the home of the Academy and over time expand into a network of studios in Ronda and the surrounding white villages. This network of white villages allows Atmósfera to take advantage of some very beautiful and unique locations as the programme develops. A tiered system will be designed so that highly distinguished artists may have a residency, established and emerging artists, and practising artists can also pursue and develop their work enjoying the benefits of the Atmósfera community. Filmed and archived talks, lectures, discussion at artist's lunches, exhibitions and performances will all be derived from the Residency Programme.
